Love and forgiveness.

I'm going to be talking about this book for awhile I think. I highly recommend it if you were wondering, haha. Please go to www.crazylovebook.com if you are interested!

It's all about doing things for God because you are wildly in love with him. Not doing things to get into heavenly. I think that's what I'm missing.... as well as many other people. I think I tried to do Godly things more because I'm afraid of going to hell rather than doing them because I love God. That's the difference: Doing things selfishly or selflessly. God is calling me to a passionate relationship with Him. The answer to religious complacency is not about a list of do's and don'ts.... it's falling in love with God. When you're wildly in love with someone, it changes everything. I think back to past boyfriends that I was "in love" with. I drove several hours to be with them for a short while. I went above and beyond because I love them so much.

Sometimes it's hard to understand the amount of true unfailing love God has for us. But once I grasp that fully.... I'm going to be blown away. I'm a sinner like any other human on this planet. I'm not better than any other person. I mess up and hurt God in so many ways. But regardless of my selfishness, regardless of turning my back on God more times than I can count, He's so quick to forgive. It doesn't matter what I've done, His arms are open for when I come running back.

Forgiveness has been another big lesson of mine. Sometimes its hard to forgive those who hurt us, especially if they're not sorry for what they've done. God never hesitates to forgive me. I'm working on forgiving those who I thought didn't deserve forgiveness. However, the bottom line is.... I don't deserve it either, but I still get it from God. As I follower of Christ, I need to forgive them no matter what they did or how many times they walked all over me. Once I understood that and let go some of my grudges, it was so freeing. I pray others can forgive me as well. Sometimes I really don't mean to hurt someone, but it happens through some misunderstanding or some other circumstances. But I'm truly sorry when I hurt people... regardless if I knew what I was doing or it happened by mistake.
