In the first month of his 1yr. old life, he's grown so much.
- He runs now instead of walking.
- Pushes strollers, chairs, and boxes around the room.
- He points very specifically to people when we read books.
- He waves to people. For example, just last night Jonah was waving back and forth to another baby at a restaurant and it was so cute!!
- He steps over big objects (like my legs) without any help.
- He gives "High 5s." One of my favorite things he does is after he wakes up from a nap. I pick him up from the crib usually with a binkie still in his mouth. I point inside the crib and say "Put your binkie inside." Binkies are just for sleeping now. After three or four times of asking (you can tell he's reluctant to give it up!) he grabs it from his mouth and throws it inside the crib with a huge smile. Then we high five after.
- He's slowly learning to color with crayons too. We have successfully finger painted with trying to eat the paint. His first drawing in hanging on the frig.
- He can drink milk and eat all kinds of dairy without stomach aches. He's very close to being off formula all together.
- He takes one nap a day!
- His favorite things to do currently are going swimming and visiting the aquarium. It's so wonderful we have a membership to the EU pool! The groupon we bought for the Aquarium and Zoo membership was a great decision too!!
Jed is busily recruiting and organizing tournaments at Eastern! We don't always see him on weekends, but he takes days off during the week to make up for it. Like yesterday, we all went to the aquarium as a family. He might play softball for fun with a church group, but not sure. His plans for the wooden old timey score board for the baseball field just needs to be approved by the township and he's good to go! He's very excited for it.
Sadly, I will no longer be continuing with 180 Dance. As a wife and mother, it just doesn't fit with my schedule. I could go, but then would have to be away from my family at one of the few times we can all be together. Kelly, the director, is moving rehearsals to Saturdays at 1pm. That's prime family time... I'm sad, because I love ballet and performing. It's just a sacrifice I need to make at this time. They are off in the summer when we have more family time, so this Friday is my last performance with the group. However, there's some exciting news too. I'm joining New Street Dance Group for the summer. They are a modern dance company. I don't think I'll be able to continue with them in the fall, but at least I'll be dancing this summer. That performance is in September for the Fringe Festival. I'm part of a trio (one of them is my friend Nicole from 180 Dance). I'm excited to get into some modern dancing again!!
The recital went well this year. I have new people interested in Modern dance for the new year. Next year is UMDGC's 10th anniversary! I'm thankful to be working there. Michelle gave me another raise making it 40 dollars an hour. Which is crazy because, I started there with 17.50 an hour. I cut two classes out of my schedule for next year for the same reason I'm cutting out 180 Dance. I need more family time. So, I'll be teaching 4 classes a week instead of 6. She wants me to start a competition team as well, which I'm excited about. Also, Bowman dance has asked me to choreograph for a community Nutcracker. This is awesome, since I've missed the Nutcracker for a long time now. Agnes Irwin School decided to give me the same hours, which is a huge blessing. There was talk of switching it around so I'd be teaching at lunchtime and then again after 5pm. Now everything is the same starting at 3!! Praise God.
So that's our news!!
