Happy 4th of July family!
Jonah is starting to form words and it's crazy!! He's not a little baby anymore! Though I haven't heard it again, he mimicked me on a few words like "All done" and "water." Where I could clearly see that he meant those things. He can say Mommy and Daddy, but says Daddy way more. He can almost say "more" but it comes out as "Ma" most of the time. He says "hi" and "hey" to people depending on if he heard it recently. His favorite word is "this" as he points to something. So funny since that's all I hear Seba say. He makes a smacking noise with his lips if he's hungry or thirsty. He knows the sign for all done, but usually shakes his whole body while shaking his hands (it's hilarious). He understands a lot more too. I can tell him to find his ball and he does. He knows "Come on", "outside", and "upstairs". He's a dancing machine and it getting good at clapping. On the other hand, he throws more "tantrums" now. He has hit me or smack my hand away from him when I make him mad, which hasn't been a lot. We correct his behavior immediately. Since he's a loud boy naturally, we are trying not to yell "no". He's very impressionable lately, so we try to say it in a loving/calm way and redirect him to something else. He tests the word "no".... he acts like he's going to stop for a minute, looks at us, but then goes for whatever he was going to do. He getting a lot better with it though and turns to run the other way occasionally.
He's still as happy as ever, bringing joy to unsuspecting shoppers. Yesterday, at the Please Touch Museum, a lady said to me "Wow! He's so independent." Which is the second time a stranger told me that (the other at the baby pool). We got a "high on life" baby who loves to explore and laugh.
Oh! Another hilarious thing he does... He doesn't walk anywhere anymore, he runs. But while he's running, he throws his arms back like he's soaring through the air. Little superman!
