180 Dance Company.

I'm on the Philadelphia Dance email list and every once in awhile I'll get emails about jobs, auditions, shows, and classes. I received an email about an audition for 180 Dance Company. I always look at these with dreams of doing more dance, but I never do (I'm out of shape big time). The name on the contact was familiar. The tagline for their company also jumped out at me. "Love Kindness. Do Justice. Dance Humbly." So I read their bio:

180 Dance Company is a contemporary ballet company located in the Philadelphia area. Our mission is to encourage self-reflection and positive changes in the world through the art of dance. We seek to offer our audience an emotional performance that resonates with each individual by focusing on the human experience and the joys and struggles that unite us all. Our company holds performances at public venues while reaching out to the community through various events.

This sounded really interesting! Plus they were a contemporary BALLET company, which is also appealing to me. I clicked their website link www.180dance.org. There was a picture of Christa Campbell! I swear she's in 50 companies! I danced with her in Lisa's company for the fringe and we teach at Contempradance together. Then I watched a video of them dancing in church for Easter Sunday. I was sold! haha. I emailed Christa about it and I sent my Resume/headshot to the director (Kelly, who I found out was a teacher at Contempra also. That's why her name was familiar).

This is the response I got back from Christa:
Hey Genevieve,
I just talked to Kelly (the director) about you and she's really interested in meeting you and seeing you dance.  I think you'd be a good fit for 180! The company just started last summer and we do contemporary ballet. I feel like the company has come a long way in 1 year and has some exciting things lined up for next year! I put in a good word for you! She should be contacting you to set up another time to meet you. It would be fun to dance with you again!
:) Christa

They rehearse on Wednesdays in the summer (which works) and Saturday nights for the fall (which works, especially if Jed moves here for the off season). So this is exciting!! So waiting to hear from Kelly and I'll give you an update.
