The Battle for Joe

As Christians we all have that someone or multiple people that our on our hearts. People who are not believers or just don't know who God is. Again, as Christians we are called to be witnesses to the Good News. But how is throwing scripture at their faces doing anything?

Yesterday, I had this revelation. It was all because of Facebook.

For awhile now, I've wanted to use Social media for God's glory. What a wonderful way to reach thousands of people! Unfortunately, I fell into the category of using it to tell my story.... not God's. So I decided to post this: Pro 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. I'm finding that when I COMPLETELY trust in Him amazing things happen. Just take how I met my husband! He continues to amaze me. Thank you thank you thank you. Things happen that normal shouldn't.... when it's God's plan nothing can stand in the way!

This is what followed:

Joe Hanson " just trust me and don't think for yourself" can be very bad advice too. Not my favorite verse.
Meet Joe Hanson. My Atheist friend. When I say Atheist, I mean to the extreme. He runs and operates this website to change the minds of Christians from believing to not believing. His email address starts with "atheistjoe." He is my person that I long to see change his mind and experience the real truth of God. So many times I wanted to delete him as a Facebook friend and I just can't. I can not forget about him. We came into contact for a reason.
I can't throw scripture out at him and expect change. He has read the Bible cover to cover. Sadly, He probably knows it better than me.  And this got me thinking..... How do we win battles of this epic proportion? He's only one person, but if this one person excepted Christ, think about how many more would be saved?!?!!?
A relationship with God is a difficult thing to convey sometimes... First you have to have faith and trust in the Lord, then the miracles start flooding in. It's then that you experience the true meaning of His love and His awesomeness. Joe will never experience that until he believes.... so how do I witness to him?
Maybe we should start sharing our personal stories. Our miracles. Using social media is a great tool that we should all be utilizing. So This lent season I've decided to do something different. I think social media can be a wonderful tool for witnessing and sharing your personal testimony. So I'm not giving it up. I'm giving up using it to promote me. I will be just sharing the Good News. I want to do more than just share scripture tho. People hear scripture all the time. I believe that's it's personal stories that witness the most. I urge you to consider joining me. 40 days of sharing your personal relationship with God and the amazing things that have happen because you choose to have faith.

Already people are liking and commenting on my first post. The story of how I met my husband (which I think you already all know).

So two things that I ask of you, my readers...
1. Share your story like you've never shared before. Stop throwing the Bible into people faces. Open up your life and love them.
2. I need prayer warriors to pray diligently for Joe Hanson. Will you join me in praying that he will see the true meaning of Christianity and how wonderful it is to have a personal relationship with him.

Don't give up on your "Joes"  .... no soul is unworthy, no battle is too difficult for our God.
