July 10, 2012. One year ago, I married the most amazing man I have ever met on a
beautiful day right outside my hometown, surrounded by rolling hills and
the best people in the world. It's been a whirlwind of a year (I can't
believe we have a son already!), but each day I grow to love my husband
more and more. I thank God each day for arranging our crazy meeting. I
love you Jed. Thank you for being my partner in crime, my best friend, and my rock. Here's to many more years of adventures!
Jed bought me some awesome L.L. Bean shoes and a special embroidered pillow from etsy, but the best gift was later that night. Jed had previously sent me an invitation to a "movie preview" at 9:30pm. He hung a paper poster with the information on our basement door. Since it is tradition for you get your spouse a gift made of paper for your first year anniversary, I wasn't sure what he had up his sleeve. Jonah wasn't allowing us to make the movie on time, but eventually we went down to the basement. He lead me to a chair in front of a tripod with a box on top. The lights went out and Jed turned a flash light on that shined into the side of the box. I was instructed to turn a lever at the bottom. As I turned the lever, a strip of paper started to move pass the open hole in the front. "The story of two peas" started to play at my own pace. I laughed, I cried... it was the best movie I ever saw. So cute. He's so creative... it's one of the best things about him... So in love with him :)
So I made him a flip book of our memories over this past year and hung post-it notes all over the dining room with words that described things that I received/felt/got to do when I married him (like support, Jonah, and happiness).
Jed's parents gave us some money to have a nice dinner. We plan to go to Longwood Gardens with our Christmas gift from the Herrmans and hit up Half Moon this weekend. It's a wild game restaurant near there. Hopefully Jonah will be good as we enjoy time outside.
