I deserve an award...

Improvisation. Usually for me, it's a great tool in dance. Today it helped me change a diaper.

Last night was awful. I got a total of three hours of sleep between my racing mind and little Jonah. God blessed me with a two hours nap with Jonah that morning. Jonah was super hungry when he woke up and he ate double of what he usually eats. Since I started Middle School Dance today I needed to leave the house a lot earlier than usually. The nap, though needed, left little time for preparation and we flew out the door. I did grab the diaper bag, but almost did not.

On the way to Eastern for a drop off with my husband, I heard the sound that's all too familiar to me now. The grunts, pushes, and flushed red face of my little boy in the back could only mean one thing.

I got to EU a little earlier than expected, so I thought I would get Jonah out and enjoy the wonderful weather while we waiting for Jed. I didn't have plans to change his diaper.  Upon lifting him out of the seat, I see it. An explosion...  up the back... on the car seat...

There was a moment of panic. Then the wheels started turning. Still holding Jonah, I manged to get the hatchback of the car open. I had no blankets or changing pads, so I manage to put him down on a plastic bag. While he was laying there, I went to get the diaper bag thinking everything was ok now. Reached in the bag and there were no wipes. None. Thank God I had a few pacifier wipes left and a change of clothes for Jonah in there. I took his pants and shirt off and wipe him down with those. Then used the little binkie wipes for the rest.

Ugh... I saved a few little wipes for the carseat and my own hands.

I will be making sure that I have a change of clothes for myself (because of a previous experience) and now wipes!!!
