So our thanksgiving was quite the.... what's the word... hmmm.... hurtle? Struggle? Weird?
I was very excited to be going to Connecticut for Thanksgiving. My Uncle has a huge colonial house with 5 bedrooms. This was going to be great, being all in the same house.... no one needed babysitters, everyone could be included in the evening hang outs. Jonah did pretty good in the car on the way up and we ran into a bit of traffic, but for the most part it was an alright trip. We all arrived at various times on Wednesday. The next morning, my mom and Patrick woke up sick as a dog.... nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramping. They didn't even eat thanksgiving food :( They felt better by the next day, but my Dad, Uncle, and Lydia woke up sick. Same thing. We were dropping like flies and all being stuck in the same house was starting to work against us. David, Jonah, and Sebi woke up with it the following day. Some how Klara, Jed, Daria, and I made it out ok.... but Klara had a horrible cough which she gave to me on the first day. Let's just say it put a damper on games and activities.
Jonah has diarrhea again after all of the previous sickness struggles. I find myself very upset about it, especially because this time he has diaper rash too. So with dirtying several diapers a day, it's so irritated that it was bleeding a little this morning. He wails when I wipe him. I'm so tired of seeing my boy sick. I had such a hard time excepting it the last time that when I finally gave it to God this time, he got a bleeding rash. Add top teething pain and you got a crabby boy that just wants his Momma. He will not take any naps with Jed. He just screams and cries until he's so exhausted he just falls asleep. I feel bad that he's not good with Jed. I want their time together to be full of joy.
Michelle (my boss at UMDGC) won't allow me to change my schedule to stay home on Tuesdays... which is so frustrating. I wish Jed and I had enough money that I could be a stay at home mother. I know God has a plan for us with our schedules and jobs. I just need to let go of the worry and try not to stress.
Amaryah babysat today. We are thankful for her time with Jonah. God bless her on days like today with teeth pain, diarrhea and no naps. At least it's only two hours.
I've been reading a blog about a couple that is going through an adoption process. They are adopting a special needs boy from China. Today they met him for the first time. I cried reading her blog and I cried again when I saw the pictures of them together. I went into the nursery when Jonah was sleeping and just looked at my precious son. I started to cry, because I'm so thankful for him. I love him so much!! I laid my hand on his back gently (as not to wake him) and prayed for healing. I know diarrhea is not a serious condition and he could have a lot worse things wrong with him, but when you love something as much as I do love Jonah, any problem big or small is a big deal.
